Monteux fireworks going ahead as planned

Extra security measures in place at this year's event

The hugely popular themed pyrotechnic show in Monteux is going ahead as planned tomorrow with the display starting at 22:00.

Since France has been under a state of emergency, many fireworks events across Provence and the Riviera have been cancelled, but Monteux have decided to go ahead with their annual extravaganza as planned.

Extra security measures will be in place, with bag checks, restrictions on what you can take in with you and extra security personnel making sure the event is safe and secure.

Since bag checks and the volume of people wanting to get into the event site are expected to cause queues, you are advised to get there at the earliest 19:00 and at the latest 2 hours before the start of the show at 22:00.
