What's New at Les Luminessences d'Avignon 2017

Now with English shows every night of the week

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Provence Editor Updated

One of the most spectacular shows in Avignon is back for its fifth season this year, and it promises to be bigger and better than before.

Les Luminessences is a huge audio-visual show that uses 15 projectors to light up the walls of the Palais des Papes at night, every year in late summer. The show tells the story of the Popes Palace from the 13th century to the present day, bringing the past back to life in a very impressive way.

For the 2017 edition, creator Bruno Seillier has added several new scenes, one of which includes the Pont d'Avignon.

For the first time this year, there will be daily shows in English which will take place at 22:15. Tickets cost €12 for adults, €10 for reductions and children under 8 are free.

To see what else is new you'll have to come in person to enjoy the show, any night between 12th August and 30th September 2017.
