London to Provence Eurostar Direct
2015 London to Avignon by Eurostar in just 6 hours
High speed TGV train operator Eurostar has announced the launch of a direct service to Provence for 2015, with Avignon to be reached in just 6 hours from London.
The new service, due to start in May 2015, will stop at Lyon, Avignon and Marseille.
The service will take four and half hours to reach Lyon, six hours for Avignon and six hours fifteen minutes to reach Marseille.
However the return journey will take an hour longer due to immigration and customs checks as Britain is not part of the European Union's visa-free Schengen zone.
Tickets are due to go on sale in December for travel from next May, whilst prices are yet to be announced.
