Nestled into the breath-taking country side of Provence France is a city called Carpentras. This is where the dream began for one young couple who had a vision, Serge and Sophie Ghoukassian. 

Serge's passion for great wine and food, Sophie's business acumen and role of supporting wife, was the recipe for success. In 1986, Serge had bought a run down house in Carpentras. Not much to look at, but with determination and a vision in mind, he transformed the house into now a prestigious restaurant, with it's originality taste of Provence cuisine.

The restaurant serves traditional cuisine with truffles, accompanied by some excellent wines, being their speciality.

Chez Serge is open from June-September - Monday to Sunday for lunch from 12:00-14:00 and for dinner from 19:30-22:00, and October-May - 12:00-13:30 and 19:30-21:30.

2. Domaine de la Camarette Restaurant, Pernes les Fontaines

A 17th century Provence style farm

Located at the Mont Ventoux foothills, main mountain in Provence, the estate is implanted in the old capital of the Comtat Venaissin: Pernes Les Fontaines. 

This village is famous for its 42 fountains all remodelled. Since May 1st 2008, Hugues Marrec welcomes his customers at La Camarette to appreciate his cuisine inspired by local and seasonal products. The wines issued from the harvest 2014 will be the first vintage with Organic label.

The restaurant is open upon reservation only: from Tuesday dinner to Saturday night in July, August and September from Tuesday dinner to Sunday, lunch during spring and fall, from Wednesday dinner to Sunday lunch during the winter period.

Grenache offers plates of cold cuts, Antipasti, Tapas and cheese with a large selection of wines of the Rhone Valley, Languedoc Roussiillon, Provence, Burgundy, Loire, Bordeaux, South West.

Grenache also serves Champagne, Brandies and liqueurs, Whisky, Rum, Cognac, Armagnac, Porto and Beer.

Open year-round from Wednesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 12:45 and from 15:30 to 19:30. Tuesday from 15:30 to 20:00.

Enjoy a peaceful place, customer parking, terrace ready to provide sixty covered seats, greenery all over and a safe place for children to play. 

The interior dining room is pleasant, well appointed and covers 50 seats. Fresh, local, organic, "home made" cuisine.

The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner except for Wednesday all day and Saturday lunch.

With innovative presentations and recipes, this restaurant offers seasonal produce combined in creative dishes that mix traditional cuisine with an innovative flair. It is part of the Safari Hotel.

Chef Xavier Ballin has created a menu that features local fare and fresh regional product such as Carpentras strawberries, truffles, Mont Ventoux pork and lowland lamb. They also have a great selection of regional wines.

Diners can enjoy their creations in the dining room, around a fireplace, or on a terrace surrounding the pool.

Open Monday to Friday 12:00-13:30 and 19:30-21:30.
