Les Combas de Lambert, Avignon

Exhibition of works by artist Robert Combas

featured in Events calendar Updated

The Collection Lambert in Avignon displays a wide selection of works by one of the artists who is highly present in the collection and from December to May it's the turn of Robert Combas.

This exhibition features jubilant, humorous art teeming with colour and movement, bringing to mind both Gaston Chaissac, the great colourist, and the ribald decade where any and everything could be said and thought, light years away from the present era where PC and moral and religious ideology dominate the scene.

In the fifty years of the history of Yvon Lambert’s gallery, artist Robert Combas holds a highly specific place. He showed up in the mid-80’s, a time of upheaval in the art market and the history of painting. Figurative art which had been dead and buried for some fifteen years revived around the world.

For the inauguration of this exhibition, the Collection Lambert will also be holding a very special concert by Les Sans Pattes, Robert Combas and Lucas Mancione’s group.

Adult Tickets 10 euros.

From September to June, the museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 18:00. Closed on 25th December and 1st January.
