Traditional fair celebrating Mary Magdalene
The festivities take place in the streets of Beaucaire and include parades, concerts, traditions and folklore, and a grand feast.
Around 20,000 people attend this event each year, with locals in traditional Provençal dress parading through the streets carrying a large statue of Mary Magdalene. The event begins every year on the 21st July, lasts all day and finishes off with a word from the mayor and everyone singing the Coupo Santo hymn of Provence. It kicks off a calendar full of events until the beginning of August.
