Victor Vasarely Exhibition, Aix-en-Provence

'Art for All' at the Fondation Vasarely

featured in Events calendar Updated

An exhibition of the Hungarian-Franco artist, featuring many new original works from private collections, in addition to the foundation's collection. It celebrates 40 years of the Vasarely Foundation and the 110th anniversary of the artist.

Vasarely is widely regarded as the father of Op-Art and is considered a major master of 20th century art. During the 1960’s and 70’s his optical images became part of the popular culture, having an impact on architecture, computer science, fashion, and the way we now look at things in general. Even though he achieved great fame he insisted on making his art accessible to everyone. His motto was “Art for all”.

There will be 44 exhibits, of paintings, sculptures, drawings, films and photographs, to help the visitor understand the creative method Vasarely used in this art.

There are two further Vasarely exhibitions running in parallel in Gordes and Avignon.
