Visitors to Avignon will be able to make use of a new sightseeing service this summer, as two new double-decker buses come into service for the first time.

A popular feature in many major European cities, the 'hop-on hop-off' bus offers visitors tours around a set route, stopping at most of the major sights and attractions in the city.

In Avignon, the route will incorporate 19 stops, using two new open top double-decker buses and the existing 'Petit Train' network. You'll be able to get off the bus and explore the sights, museums or galleries at your leisure, hopping back onto the bus at any time during the day to explore further.

An audio guide will be available in 12 languages and for around €20 per person, you can hop on and off as many times as you like during the day.

The buses will seat 50 people upstairs in the open air and 30 downstairs.

Tickets will be on sale from 1st June 2017 from the tourist office and online shortly after.
