The Tour de France 2017 will surely be one of the most memorable in recent years, with a lot of the biggest names in the competition no longer in the race, due to either crashes or a disqualification.

As the Peleton sets off this morning from Embrun in the Haute Alpes and makes its way on the longest stage of this year's race (222.5km) to Salon de Provence, here are the current race rankings;

  • Yellow Jersey - race leader - Chris Froom (GBR) Team Sky (who are also currently the best performing team)
  • Green Jersey - leader on points - Michael Matthews (AUS) Team Sunweb
  • Polkadot Jersey - best climber - Warren Barguil (FRA) Team Sunweb

The caravan is expected to arrive in Salon-de-Provence at around 16:00 with the first riders at around 16:30.

Tomorrow sees the riders take part in the time trial in Marseille and by this point, as Gilles Maignan explains below, the riders will already be feeling pretty fatigued.

After that it's all about Paris, as the riders finally reach the Champs Élysées. Will Chris Froome be able to hold on to the Yellow Jersey until Paris? Let's hope so...
