Provence Green Energy Scam Unmasked

Fraudulent deals from Prom Service Distribution (PSD)

Promising electricity bill savings of up to 80%, Provence property owners have been hit by a large loan to pay and inflated electricity bills.

The company, PSD, toured the region promoting favourable green energy deals and successfully signed up a number of Provence home-owners in 2011 and 2012. The deal included a monthly payment of €80 to pay for the cost of the wind turbine and offered 80% savings on electricity bills.

However after signing-up, the cost of the wind-turbines doubled and the sales team argued the new wind turbines would be twice as productive. On top of the increased investment cost the turbines proved to be noisy and dangerous; some homes saw parts of the turbine fall off in high winds.

The biggest shock came with electricity bills, instead of decrease in cost and increase was seen. PSD claimed that with the strong Mistral winds the turbines consumed electricity to 'brake' the over-productive motor.

Sadly as the number of cases against PSD mounted, the company had already filled for bankruptcy and left a number of home-owners out of pocket.
