Chateau Coussin is part of LesChateaux Elie Sumeire estate on the slopes of the Sainte Victoire mountains, made famous by the artist Cezanne. The reds use mainly Syrah, Mourvedre & Grenache grape varieties, with the Rose being made with Grenache & Cinsault. The predominant white grape is Ugni-blanc Rolle.

The Sumeire family has lived in Trets since the thirteenth century and owns three châteaus in Provence. They have a long and interesting history which you can read about on their website or find out more when you visit them. In the latter part of their long history the first vintage of Chateau Coussin was bottled by the Sumeire family in 1983.
