Château Margüi produces award winning organic wines and organic olive oil from its estate not far from Barjols in South West Provence.
The terroir here has been producing wine since Roman times and the main buildings on the estate actually include a Roman chapel.
In 2000, 15 hectares of vines (Syrah, Cabernet, Vermentino, Cinsault, Grenache, Sangiovese) were replanted on clay and limestone soil that had been dormant for 30 years. The vineyard is totally organic and not a drop of fertiliser has touched the soil in over 40 years.
Château Margüi reached its full production of around 65,000 bottles with the 2008 harvest. Olive oil was first pressed here in 200, and still in very limited quantities, but also fully organic.
You can come and try the wines on site or buy and ship bottles of wine around the world.

When to come
Chateau Margui is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 - 18:00.
