Winners and losers of this year's prestigious awards

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Provence Editor Updated

The end of January is a tense time for restaurants, especially those with Michelin stars or those hoping to gain one of those much sought after accolades.

Yesterday, Michelin published their list of 2017 Michelin Guide restaurants, which includes those restaurants not only with one, two or three stars, but also those restaurants that Michelin has recommended or singled out as 'Bib Gourmand'.

New Michelin stars have been awarded to only one three star establishment in Courchevel, 2 stars to an additional 12 restaurants and 57 1 stars across France.

In Provence these new stars include 1 star for the Pierre Reboul restaurant and 1 star for Restaurant Mickaël Féval, both in Aix en Provence, Restaurant Fanny Rey in Saint-Remy de Provence and Le Domaine du Colombier in Montelimar.

The map below shows all the current holders of 1, 2 and 3 Michelin stars across France.
