La Chassagnette Restaurant, Arles

The only organic Michelin Starred restaurant in Europe

featured in Restaurants Updated

This organic Michelin starred restaurant is situated just 12km outside Arles on the road to Sambuc and is run by the chef Armand Arnal.

The menu at La Chassagnette is in sync with the seasons and the produce comes either from Arnal's organic garden or from local sustainable sources. Vegetables are put front and centre at this restaurant, not normally the case with French cuisine, so it is a great option for those that don't eat meat. However, fish and meat are often featured on the menu.

The interior of the restaurant isn't fussy and aristocratic like so many others in its class in France; it is bright, modern and modest. During the summer months, diners can enjoy the simple sunny terrace.

Open for lunch every day and dinner Thursday, - Saturday and public holidays.

From 21 June - 21 September inclusive open every day for lunch and dinner.

Visitor comments

  • "Loved this place where vegetables are in the lead, although it is definitely not a vegetarian restaurant! Modern setting in an old farm in the middle of nowhere. Before diner you can stroll through the big vegetable garden and see where the chef gets his inspiration. Would definitely go back!" - Trip Advisor
  • “Fantastic! A wonderful lunch, incredible garden, impressively tended. Delicious and imaginative food. A completely lovely experience. Don't miss it if you are in this part of the world...” - Trip Advisor
