Choregies d'Orange 2016
2nd & final performance of Madam Butterfly takes place tonight
Tonight sees the last performance of Madam Butterfly at the world famous Choregies d'Orange, a mixture of classical music and opera concerts that first took place in Orange in 1860.
The dramatic setting in the amphitheatre and the acoustics that this unique venue provide, create a truly memorable experience.
This year's performers of Madam Butterfly are what some critics are calling a dream cast - (Cio-Cio San) Ermonela Jaho (Suzuki) Marie-Nicole Lemieux, (Kate Pinkerton) Valentine Lemercier, (Pinkerton) Bryan Hymel, (Sharpless) Marc Barrard, (Goro) Carlo Bosi, (It Bonzo) Wojtek Smilek, (Il Principe Yamadori) Christophe Gay and (Il Commissario Imperiale) Peter Dean, many of whom make their first appearances at the Choregies.
Tonight sees the last performance, starting at 21:45 and tickets are still available.
If you are unable to make tonight's performance you still have time to see more shows at this year's Choregies d'Orange, with Verdi's Requiem taking place on Saturday 16th July, the Lyric concert on 5th August and La Traviata on the 3rd and 6th August.
