Walking Routes in Provence

Explore some of the beautiful trails Provence has to offer with this 365km circuit. 

An interesting site not to be missed whilst in Provence. The wonderful views of the Villecroze caves and impressive scenery will take your breath away.

From the look out point at 965m you are rewarded with fantastic views of the Alazards valley and the Rhone valley.

A 5-7 day walk leaving near the coast and making its way up the Verdon Gorge through the heart of the Verdon natural park.

This easy and gentle 3km walk is perfect for families as most of the route is shaded by large billowing trees with ideal spots for picnics, wondeful views and interesting forestry along the way.

Explore the valleys of Le Beaucet situated between the Mountains of Vaucluse and the Luberon Valley.

Roussillon is a wonderful little village located about 10km outside of Apt. This gorgeous walk that explores the Ochre cliffs of Rousillon is relatively easy and will be enjoyable for everyone. Not to be confused with the Ochre Trail, which which has a visitor fee for entry into the park.

A great walk in any season as it gets the sun throughout the day and is sheltered from the sometimes strong, Mistral wind.

This lovely hike in the Luberon region of Provence is great for most abilities of walkers. Stunning views and landscape on every part of the trail will make the 2hr 30 minute walk well worth it. Walking along the top of the large rocky cliff you can see for miles and enjoy the cool breeze.

This walking route is for strong walkers or hikers, and can be completed in anywhere from 8-10 days.

Starting in Barbentane, a short 15 minute drive from Avignon, this gentle and easy walk is great for all abilities of walker. WIth a shady tracks and only a 2 hour and 45 minute round trip you can amble along this walk and enjoy the surrouding scenery.

Located on the outskirts of Aix, not far from the Atelier Cezanne is the Terrain des Peintres.

A slightly more challenging hike through the most spectactular gorge in Provence, with its narrow high walls and dark alleyway you can witness the amazing vegetation and plants. A 3 hour and 30 minute walk you can enjoy this popular walking route, recommended during the week when it is likely to be quieter.

Regarded as a 'classic' walk and from the summit cross you are rewarded with 360 degree views of the Luberon, Mount Ventoux, the Alps and Cap Canaille.
