Are you looking for unusual accommodation in the Gorges du Verdon? Then spend a few nights in a "roulotte" (horse-drawn caravan) at this tranquil campsite!
The campsite offers a choice of static caravans and mini-chalets. There are also a number of empty pitches for you to place your own tents or caravans. The chalets are equipped for people with disabilities, as are some of the toilets and showers.
Facilities include washing machines, tumble dryers, baby baths and changing mats, small grocery store, fresh bread and croissants each morning, and a pay phone. Well behaved dogs are permitted, but must be kept on a lead.
The campsite is located near to Castellane, in a natural wooded park beside a river, easily accessible via the Route Napoléon. It is open from March through to October, with rates varying according to the time of year.
During the peak season the campsite organises regular activities and entertainments, during the rest of the year you can enjoy using the petanque pitch, table tennis, table football, children's play area, and picnic area.
The campsite is in a quiet rural spot just 2km from Castellane, a pleasant town with charming old buildings and medieval walls.
The campsite does not have a restaurant but you can buy fresh bread and croissants each morning and there is a small shop selling ice creams, drinks and groceries.
The campsite is 2km south of Castellane, which is 90km north west of Cannes, driving along the Route Napoleon/D6085 via Grasse.
