Over 63,000 signatures have been collected and presented to the Marseille city hall in reaction to the €400,000 public funding for a David Guetta and Mika concert in Marseille.

A record number of signatures were collected from a petition created on the website Change.org

On the 10th of December 2012, Marseille council approved a grant of €400,000 for Adam Productions to organise a David Guetta and Mika concert at the Borély Park in Marseille, the 2013 European Capital of Culture.

Despite this public subsidy, from Marseille tax-payers contributions, the concert from international popstars David Guetta and Mika has announced tickets priced between €44 and €59.

The petition does not challenge the programming of the concert, but that the public funding is not justified. Taxpayers will be funding a concert that will not be accessible to the majority of the public and that the Borély Park venue would be made available for no cost to Adam Productions.
