Zapata Racing sell 1500 Flyboards to date
After just 20 months on the market Marseille based Zapata Racing have sold over 1500 Flyboards worldwide.
Local jet ski champion, Frank "Franky" Zapata, from Rove opened a new horizon for jet-ski owners, with his development of the Flyboard - offering jet ski users the opportunity to experience aeronautical feelings.
The idea makes use of the turbine in a jet-ski to thrust water out of a special developed flight-suit, allowing the user to fly through the air.
The Flyboard can push a user 10 metres above the sea and can travel at speeds up to 30 km/h.
The 2013 model of the Flyboard is expected to be released in May with a number of top-secret improvements.
A number of test sites should also be revealed soon, allowing paying customers to try this new contraption.
