Free Boat Trips on the Rhone This Month
Solar powered Electric boats on the Rhone
On June 23rd and 24th you can take a free boat ride on the Rhone thanks to the Compagnie National du Rhône (CNR).
They are offering these awesome summertime cruises departing from Villeneuve-lez-Avignon and Avignon-Barthelasse. A perfect afternoon activity, especially if a big fancy riverboat cruise isn’t in your budget.
But this isn’t your average riverboat – the trips will be taken on an electro-solar boat. The free tours will be 35 to 40 minutes long and will allow the public the opportunity to discover all the wonderful aspects of the river. Passengers will learn about the history of the Rhone, its rich biodiversity and experience unique views of l’Ile de la Barthelasse, the biggest river-island in Europe.
The Compagnie National du Rhône is responsible for hydropower plants, dams and locks on the Rhone and they have also developed industrial port sites, marinas, mooring points and leisure areas on the river. They are also France’s second largest electricity producer. To reserve call: 0 800 100 084
