Truffle Hunting & Wine Tasting Anyone?
The luxury boutique hotel Crillon le Brave, is THE place to be this Autumn
When you conjure up the perfect Provençal Autumn day it probably involves eating truffles and drinking wine...at least for me it does!
But the Crillon le Brave hotel have gone one step further... This November they will be offering their popular truffle hunting weekends, where you can actually take part in finding your own truffles before learning how to prepare them, and now with the added bonus of wine-tasting, and even a trip to the local antique market.
If you are looking for the ultimate Provençal experience, then look no further!
Located 25 miles northeast of Avignon, Crillon le Brave is the ideal luxury escape. Some of the best truffles in France can be found in Provence, near to Crillon le Brave, an area which is known for its high quality produce and agricultural production. The hotel is offering three English speaking wine and truffle hunting weekends for the 2015 diary.
Eric Jaumard, Provence’s truffle expert, has teamed up with the Crillon le Brave hotel and will be leading the three truffle hunting experiences. On the Friday morning with his trusted (truffle finding!) dog guests will go hunting for truffles with Eric, followed by a rustic lunch. Guests will then have an afternoon of leisure to do as much or as little as they like before a delicious dinner at the hotel.
On the Saturday morning guests will learn how to cook and prepare their truffles during a cooking demonstration with Crillon le Brave’s Head Chef, Jérôme Blanchet. Jérôme will be teaching guests his secrets behind creating his signature truffle dishes such as: Duck foie gras pot au feu (beef broth) with black truffle potato gnocchi. The afternoon will then be spent visiting some of Châteauneuf-du-Papes’s finest winery estates, where they will taste a selection of local red and white wines.
To conclude a magical evening, guests will be treated to a delicious truffle infused dinner at Crillon le Brave.
Sunday morning is reserved for the famous antiques shops and Sunday morning farmer’s market in the scenic l'Isle sur la Sorgue. Regarded as the antique capital of the region, the “Venice of Provence,” l'Isle sur la Sorgue is named after the clear water canals that run through the pretty town.
The three weekends will be run through the month of November (5th, 19th & 26th) and are sure to be popular so if sounds like the weekend for you, then you'd better book quickly! For more information or to book, contact the hotel directly via this link - Hotel Crillon le Brave.
