A gentle 10km circuit with wonderful views
This loop takes you round the medieval village of Malaucène in the cycling mecca of the Mont Ventoux region.
Starting off from the Tourist Office in the centre of Malaucène, head north-east in the direction of Beaumont-du-Ventoux. Turn left just before the Ferme du Gros Noyer, then left again to continue along to a small bridge.
Turn right after the bridge until you reach the chapel of Saint Roch. After the chapel, turn right and continue on to the hamlet of Les Valettes. Here you’ll find an ancient stone washing well where you have two choices; you can either continue along the D153 to Beaumont-du-Ventoux, or you can make a little diversion to visit the chapels of Saint Sépulcre and Saint Marguerite before doubling back to pick up the original route.
Approximately 1 kilometre after Beaumont-du-Ventoux, you’ll see a milestone with a righthand turn. Follow this road and turn left at the end to return back to Malaucène.
From budget eateries to the more refined restaurant, Malaucene has a fair selection of places to eat. Try Chez Laurette for a great value three course lunch.
