Gastronomic hideaway in the lavender fields of the Var
La Bastide de Moustiers is a house full of charm situated in the north of Provence close to Verdon National Park.
Former property of an earthenware master and now owned by chef Alain Ducasse, it offers a splendid view on Moustiers-Sainte-Marie "cliff".
The main building was restored by local artisans and now features 12 contemporary bedrooms decorated in neutral colours.
With extensive gardens (that supplies the restaurant) and a swimming pool, it is a wonderfully tranquil place to stay.
Of course, the restaurant is a huge attraction for many, and the menus are filled with local dishes that change with the seasons. Plus they have 1 Michelin star...
A remote location away from the big towns and cities with lavender fields and olive groves in abundance. If you are looking to get away from it all, you couldn't pick a better spot.
Tall pines provide refreshing shade from the midday sun. The pool has lovely views of the surrounding vineyards and includes a small stone changing room. Sun loungers and parasols are available for guests use.
Just next to reception, the hotel's bar is small but what it lacks in size it makes up for in variety; you should be able to source your favourite tipple here. Slightly 1920's in style, with green lampshades hanging from the ceiling, it has a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a lovely log fire.
A gastronomic experience, the cuisine makes full use of the hotel's gardens with plenty of fresh home grown vegetables and herbs. The menu changes daily so you'll be spoit for choice during your stay. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner but it is popular so we strongly advise you make reservations.

By Train:
The cloaest train stations are 1hr30mins away and are Aix-en-Provence, or Marseille
By Car:
Follow the A7 / E17 until exit 18 for the A51. Exit the A51 for the D6 towards Valensole. Stay on this road and follow signs for Moustier-Sainte-Marie.
There are no restrictions on children staying at the hotel. Cots will cost an additional €25 or extra beds are €45. Babysitting can be arranged with a local nanny.
