Home of the rather wonderful Grottes Troglodytes
Villecroze is an attractive village in the foothills of the Alps, to the north of Brignoles in the beautiful and lush region of the Var.
There is an old medieval part to the village, with a number of fountains, cobbled alleys and archways. It's not very big and won't take you long but is very charming for a quick wander. You can follow a trail of the fountains, a leaflet with all the details is available from the tourist office.
Back to the more central part of the town is a large square which has a couple of restaurants, and this is also where you'll find the 18th century church.
The town's weekly market is held in the square on Thursday mornings. You'll be able to buy locally made produce such as honey, wines and goats cheese. There are a couple of artisan shops and galleries in the village.
