Joucas

Tiny village in the Vaucluse, nestled between Gordes and Roussillon

Updated

The little village of Joucas is home to just over 300 inhabitants and can be found on the outskirts of the Luberon regional park.

Its position on a small hill means that you can get great views over the surrounding countryside whilst you sit and eat lunch or grab a coffee at the general store.

This is one of the quieter perched villages you can visit in the Luberon, with less traffic and generally less visitors than some of its more well known neighbours.

Stroll around the streets and admire the beautifully maintained stone houses and keep an eye out for the unique stone and wood sculptures dotted around the streets which are made by local artists, and across the valley for the ochre cliffs of Roussillon.
